My condolences to Stephanie Dalton and the Mahler Family. I recall your father as being very nice when he would stop in and chat with me while I was at Littman Jewelers.

I feel fortunate to have become reacquainted with Tom after the lapse of about three decades. True, I only have one strong memory of him from my childhood, but it is spectacular: that day he acquired his red MG sports car and took Tommy and myself for several spins up Cold Soil Road, gladly acceding to our demand that he push on the gas until we crossed the â??60 mphâ? thresholdâ??and then turning around at the intersection of Van Kirk Road. How indelible that memory is! How right out of the 70s! You could not know Tom and not have at least one such memory. This is mine.
Tom was a real complement to all the holidays Iâ??ve spent at Brent and Stephanieâ??s houseâ??so affable and not the least annoyed by my slew of obscure questions about Texas politics, the Cowboys, or Giants lore. Sherry and I will truly miss him. We shall keep him in our prayers, and the entire Mahler family as you cope with your loss, professing as we do our faith in the Resurrection which, above all, is the best solace for times like these.
