Helen Blahut, 102, of Trenton, died on Monday at Royal Health Gate Nursing & Rehabiltition Center in Trenton. Born in Bound Brook, she was a lifelong Trenton resident. Mrs. Blahut worked as a shipping clerk for Heinemann Electric in Lawrenceville. She was a member of the American Legion Post 458 Ladies Auxiliary and St. Michael's Church where she was also a member of the Rosary Alter Society. Mrs. Blahut had a great love for her family and baseball. She rented rooms to ball players, including members of the Trenton Giants when they had home games. Willie Mays, a famous player, was also known to stop by and visit her. Daughter of the late John and Sophie Winckiewicz Figel, wife of the late Anthony A. Blahut Sr., and mother of the late Anthony A. Blahut Jr., she is survived by her loving son Joseph ""Buddy"" Blahut of Trenton, her youngest sister, Ann Nawracaj and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers; Bill, Al, and Frank Figel and her sisters; Frances Krasnansky, and Rose Clarkson. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM at St. Michael's Church, 1130 Brunswick Ave., Trenton NJ 08638. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton The calling hours will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Helen's name to the church of your choosing.
