Eddie was a wonderful and gentle man. I remember he would always offer his help whenever he can and would always lighten up the room with his youthful spirit. He would ask and check on how my parents are doing and he always had a solution to anything with his positivety. He will be dearly missed and may God rest his soul in peace.

I met Eddie working at the Nassau Inn in 2018. Eddie would always light up the room and be there willing to help anyone if he could. So sorry to hear of his passing, gone too soon.

I met Eddie when I was in middle school or early high school. He was a friend that my mom had met at work who quickly became family. Eddie was always around when anyone needed him, it didn’t matter the time of day. He helped my mother, my grandparents, my friends, etc. Eddie was at ALL of our graduations, birthdays, and even hung out with us when we were locked in a hotel during a hurricane. Eddie was there when we put down our first dog, Sasha. I remember Sasha was so ill that she couldn’t move, until Eddie walked into the room. She did one last puppy dance. I always remember him being around no matter what. My mom is a great judge of character. She isn’t one to let strangers into her life if they’re not 100% true. Eddie was her rock. Eddie was a part of our family. He will always be remembered and his legacy of kindness and compassion will carry on.

The world has lost a soul too gentle for our time, you will be missed dear Ed. His gracious nature touched every heart around him, his amicable demeanor allowed friendships to flourish and his thoughtful expressions were a comfort to all. I was fortunate enough to share these precious memories since attending Lawrence high school with him. My deepest sympathies accompany the profound grief of this irreplaceable loss.

My sincerest condolences to Kelly, Amy, Edward, Mary Lou and Meghan at this terribly sad time. I have so many great memories of Eddie. Having spent so much time at the house w/ Kelly, Eddie felt like the big brother I never had. I will always remember him as funny, kind (even when we were annoying him), a great athlete and so wise. The whole family has a special place in my heart and was such a significant part of my life growing up. I'm sending you all love and hugs. May all of his memories keep him alive in all of your hearts as they live in mine. Thinking of you all. Love, Cristin

Eddie,
It was a pleasure to know you all these years. You were always kind; had a great sense of humor, and fun to be around! The type of person who would do anything and everything you could to help anyone, expecting nothing in return. You were a wonderful friend and colleague. I’m so sorry that your time with us has ended so suddenly/unexpectedly Thanks for everything! I’ll see you on the flip side~ nice guy’s finish first (in heaven)!
Love, Jessica

I can remember going to the Sweeney’s home around the holidays to celebrate Meghan’s birthday. We would walk in and Eddie would stand up with a smile on his face and say hi Mr. & Mrs. P. He was always welcoming and kind. One of his favorite topics of conversation was Meghan. Toni, our daughter was a close friend to Meghan. I watched Eddie and Meghan and Toni engaged in warm fun conversations. You could tell how much he loved Meghan. And how much he was loved in return.

My sympathies, hugs and prayers to my sister, and family members, for the loss of my first nephew Eddie Sweeney. Sometimes we can find the right words to say... Sometimes we can only stand beside one an other and let our closeness say what what words cannot. Our hearts are with the family and know how much we care. Eddie will be surely missed.
Love,
Aunt Marianne Schwalbe & family

Dear Family Eddie,
Deepest sympathy on the loss of a great CO Worker at Nassau Inn. I knew him in 2004 to the time I left in 2010, or after. When he worked over nights at front desk and I was restaurant manager.
May God Grant Him Eternal Rest, and may the eight ball always be in his possession.
Sincerely
Pete Lieggi

Ed Sweeney had the kindest heart. I was proud to call him my friend.
I loved every minute we shared growing up together- from Little League to captaining football at Lawrence together- and the shared memories since.
I will never forget the love, generosity, support, and fun shared with Eddie, Amy, and Kelly over the years. Claire and I will always keep Ed and you both in our thoughts and memories.
We love you guys!
Pete Radice
