Obituary of Elizabeth J. Zargiel

Elizabeth “Betty” J. Zargiel, 88, formerly of Ewing Twp, died peacefully on Sunday, December 25th.
She is proceeded in death by her parents John and Elizabeth Durgay Adam, husband Stanley R. Zargiel, Jr., siblings John Adam, Steven Adam and his wife Dot, and Mae Kopec and her husband Jake. She is survived by her sons; Stanley “Butch” Zargiel, III and his wife Brenda of Yardley, Pa and John R. Zargiel and his wife Peggy of Newtown, Pa. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Ryan Zargiel and his wife Sarah, Kristi Warlick and her husband Matt, Courtney Grissinger and her husband Jimmy, Kelli Hunsucker and her husband Travis, Katie Zargiel, and Maggie Zargiel; her great grandchildren: Lucy, James, Samuel, Benjamin, Thomas, Devon, Dalton, and Genevieve and her longtime companion, Ralph Csogi.
Born in Trenton, Betty was an area resident most of her life. In 1954, Betty married the love of her life, Butch Zargiel. They had a family, and settled in Ewing Township in 1960. Betty was a homemaker and mom to her sons Butch and John, in addition to having a successful career at NJM Insurance Group. She served as NJM supervisor for over twenty-five years in the Homeowners Insurance Department. Betty was an avid and talented baker, generously sharing her delightful cupcakes and cookies with family, friends, and coworkers. Betty loved dancing, hosting holiday parties, shopping, and making others smile. But most of all she loved her late husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was an active member of the Ewing Senior Club, along with her longtime companion Ralph Csogi. Together, Betty and Ralph attended social functions and traveled all over the world, including Aruba and local favorites, Atlantic City and Ocean City.
Her spirit is kept alive by the many recipes she has shared with friends, family, and the community. To celebrate Betty and all the love she shared with the world, please join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday January 4th at 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held prior to mass from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the daily chapel at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorial contributions to honor Betty be made to either Caring Hospice, 400 Commerce Drive Suite C, Fort Washington, PA 19034 or the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
