Obituary of Jane F. Castner

Jane F. Castner, 75, of Hamilton, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Homestead, Hamilton, NJ. Born in Nutley, NJ, Jane was a longtime resident of Lawrenceville, before moving to Hamilton two years ago. She also lived previously in Minnesota and Washington, D.C. She is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and Rutgers Law School. After law school Jane served as a Superior Court law clerk in Mercer County and was in private law practice before joining the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) in the New Jersey Judiciary as an attorney. She worked in the AOC for 27 years, rising to the court executive level as Assistant Director for Civil Practice. Jane retired from state government in 2011. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Pennington. Some of her hobbies included reading, jigsaw puzzles (the more pieces the better), crossword puzzles, scrabble, being a dog mom to her beloved Rosie (the latest in a line of many canine companions), traveling, and trips to Chadwick Beach. Daughter of the late James A. and Adeline E. Castner, mother of the late Andrew Bonville; she is survived by her children Hannah Bonville (Pittsburgh, PA) and Nathaniel Bonville (Asheville, NC); her former spouse and friend Steven Bonville, and many other friends. A virtual memorial service will be conducted by St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in the near future. Interment will be private.
