I wanted to convey some of my recollections of Ken. I first met Ken at a local gin mill where he would sit across the bar, probably 15 years ago but closer to 20 years. When I asked a friend next to me a question, Ken would answer from across the bar! I am thinking…
#1 Who is this big guy with the white hair?
#2 How can he even hear us?
#3 How the hell does he know all the answers?
Over the years I got to know Ken and learned his 3 favorite things in the world were GOLF, GOLF and GOLF!
He was a creature of habit. You could set the clock by when he came in for his after work cocktail. Every Wednesday he would greet you with “It’s Hump Day!” At the end of the week he would greet you with “It’s Friday!” Every Saturday he would be carrying his discount carton of PA purchased cigarettes for the week and come every January, he started the countdown to his beloved annual spring Myrtle Beach golf junket.
In a crazy, unstable world of unpredictability I really began to appreciate Ken’s predicability. Now missing all these little everyday things has really left a big hole in our lives.
Ken was old world values…
Dependability
Honesty
Loyalty
I will miss you my friend…

Today as the 2021 Masters Tournament begins, I think of my friend Ken and how much he enjoyed this event and the game of golf. This was also the time of year that our golf group would be travelling to play golf in Ken's favorite place, Myrtle Beach, SC. I will always remember the good times, the laughs, the good food, the rounds of golf that we played and the post round discussions in the many 19th hole clubhouses.
Rest In Peace My Friend.

Ken and I spent many years as friends participating in any and all activities at McGraw-Hill including golf, bowling, softball, ski trips, you name it. We were part of a close knit group including Dave Mundras, Jim McGuire, Ray Mills and the late, great Charlie Spady (RIP also). We went on golf trips together as well as our infamous vacations at the Jersey Shore. I'm glad that Ken was there to enjoy all the things we did and to make a lot of great memories. RIP Ken.
