Obituary of Ruth "Dolly" Ettenger

Ruth “Dolly” Ettenger, 97, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at St. Mary’s Assisted Living, Lawrenceville. Born in Trenton, NJ, she resided in Lawrence Township most of her life. Ruth was executive secretary at CV Hill Refrigeration. She was a charter member of Slackwood Presbyterian Church and ordained as an Elder in 1966. Ruth was actively involved at church including secretary to the Sunday school, nominating and finance committees, and rummage sale volunteer. She was a life member of Slackwood Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Predeceased by her parents Calvin G. and Daisy I. Sell, her husband Norman Ettenger who died in 1947, and her sisters Esther Myers, Laura Lindley, Pearl Bailey and Grace Smith; she is survived by her nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great great-nieces and great great-nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 11AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, PA. Please follow all social distancing guidelines and masks must be worn at all times.
