Obituary of Dr. Peter Yacyk

Dr. Peter Yacyk, 93, of Ewing Twp., passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Grace Garden Memory Care Center at Morris Hall, Lawrenceville, NJ. Born in Gilberton and raised in Chester, PA; he was a longtime resident of Ewing Twp. Peter was a Veteran of World War II, having proudly and honorably served his country with the US Navy. He was a lifelong educator beginning his career at Salem High School in Salem, NJ, Ridley High School in Folsom, PA, and finishing his career at Rider University. His 31 years of service at Rider University included his roles as professor and Assistant Dean of Education. In his retirement, he served as Adjunct Professor Emeritus of Graduate Education for 10 more years. He is the author of Laugh, Learn, and Invest, A Teacher’s Guide for a Class Stock Purchase Project, and What Teenagers Should Know about the Stock Market and Investments. Peter was a dedicated educator who touched thousands of lives through his work at Rider University and beyond. He was the recipient of many honors as an educator. He was a dedicated member of St. Ann’s Church in Lawrenceville, NJ. He loved to travel and vacation at the Jersey Shore. He was known for his caring spirit and wonderful sense of humor. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary Yacyk, his wife Patricia Ann Yacyk, and his granddaughter Charisa Yacyk; He is survived by his children and their spouses Peter and Deborah Yacyk, Ron and Amy Yacyk, Richard and Sharon Yacyk and Paul and Suzanne Yacyk; his grandchildren Jenna DeLuca, Dana, Kayleen, Kyle, Cory, and Chloe Yacyk; his great-grandchildren Dominic and Francesca DeLuca and his companion Mary Ann Conboy. Due to recent events and gathering restrictions, funeral services will be held privately. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choosing in his memory.
