Yacyk Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Doc's passing. Our families were close and your family is considered of extension of ours. We have many fond memories that stretch most of our lives. Most notably was Doc's enjoyment taking the our picture every year on Christmas Eve in front of the Yacyk Christmas tree. His enthusiasm for education was contagious and he was instrumental during our Rider Years. We looked forward to the Sunday evening visits after Chester when we would hear the door would open and Doc and Pat would say "Anybody home?"
You can take joy in the fact that he lived life to the fullest and brought joy to the people around him.
Love,
Anthony, Donna and Alyssa

Dr. Yacyk was the first education professor I encountered at Rider. He was a wonderful teacher, mentor and role model. Pete and my long-time partner, Al Sternberg, were quite a team! Al taught several of Pete's children and enjoyed each of them. I am so sorry because Pete's loss will leave a big void in his family, in the history of Rider and among his friends and colleagues. On behalf of Al's memory and myself I send sincere sympathy. Judy Gray

Peter, Ron,Rick, and Paul,
Your dad was a true gem, one of a kind and so special to our entire family. He was a funny, easy-going man who would go on endless trips with my mom whether it be vacations to the Jersey shore, to see shows to shopping with her at stores like Chico's without hesitation. He was always ready for the outing. One thing I love learning and seeing from Pete was he was a master yo-yoer!!! So many hidden talents and some not so hidden, like the fact that he was a teacher at his core and it showed in all he did. We enjoyed so many Christmases and holidays with Pete as well, great memories which shall not be forgotten.
Lastly, I know we will all miss his quick wit and jokes - some favorites we loved in our house are: "I have no sense of direction, I get lost in a phone booth." "My favorite kind of dog is a hot dog." And "I don't live to eat, I eat to live."
I know Pete is up in heaven with your mom Pat, looking down and smiling on us all and he would not want us to be sad but to smile and say it's okay. We love you Pete, rest now and keep smiling!!! We miss you!! Love, The Lavene's - Mary, Jason, Andrew and Evan

Sally and I are deeply saddened to hear of Peters passing. We are forever grateful for Pete's friendship, smile, and sense of humor. He was a wonderful individual and a kind and caring man. On the professional side, Pete was always there to help me and if it were not for Pete, I would not have enjoyed the career I so enjoy. We had a lot of fun together and I will always remember him for his kindness and the good times.
