Obituary of Concetta Gutierrez

Concetta Marie Gutierrez (nee Cicalese) entered peacefully into eternal rest on February 6th with her family by her side.  Born in Newark, New Jersey on April 26, 1929, she lived in Lawrence Township for 59 years.

Those who had the good fortune to meet Concetta were always greeted with a beautiful smile and a warm heart.  She loved people, most especially children, and had the gift of making all those who knew her feel loved and accepted.  Concetta was as tough as she was soft; her life’s journey made her so.  Fiercely independent, there was no challenge that she did not face with grace and dignity.  Her loyalty to her family was unmatched; she lovingly stood by them each and every day.

Concetta was the daughter of Angelo Joseph and Lucille J. Cicalese and the sister of Anthony J. Cicalese.  She married her childhood sweetheart, Daniel J. Gutierrez. She is survived by her three children: Donna Kocubinski, Diane Scaccetti (Larry) and Anthony Gutierrez.  She treasured her grandchildren: Stephanie Verdino (Jason), Danielle Kocubinski, Angelo Scaccetti and Regina Scaccetti, and was blessed to welcome her great grandchild, Elise Marie Verdino.    She has many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends who will grieve her loss as well.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 9:15 am to 11 am at the Chapel at St. Ann’s Church, 1253 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 11 am in St. Ann’s Church.  Burial will be at the Princeton Memorial Park, 403 Gordon Road, Robbinsville, New Jersey.

Concetta believed that flowers were to be enjoyed by the living.  In order to honor her wishes the family asks that in lieu of flowers please remember her by extending an act of kindness that would remind you of her.
