Donna, Diane and Anthony,
We are all so very sorry for the loss of Nan. Her family was the core of her life and her love and loyalty to all of you was so evident in all she did. Blessed with knowing her for nearly 4 decades, I remember so clearly from that first day, her profound kindness, her energy and the sense of love that filled a room when she entered. Her laughter was infectious and unforgettable, most often while coaxing us to eat and drink at any hour of a visit. I only ever heard her say kind and considerate words to everyone on any topic and she possessed an amazing sense of curiosity about so many things.
If fortunate in life, you can be blessed with meeting a special person who always sees the best in everyone and always can find the good in any of life's challenges, even in the rough times. Nan personified that philosophy better than anyone, and while we will miss her dearly, her life and faith assure us that she will always be in a place of honor with Him forever. I truly believe that we can honor her exemplory life by applying her life's principles of universal respect, honor, loyalty, forgiveness and most importantly, sharing the love she showed all of us who were blessed to know her. She will be missed so much! God be with you Nan for all the good you brought into the world.

Dearest Donna, Diane and Anthony, we are so sorry for the loss of your mom. She was a lovely lady and will always hold a special place in our hearts. She showed everyone nothing but kindness. We were so blessed to have know her, especially Nicole who spent many afternoons attempting to play the organ in her living room which was followed up with a grilled cheese sandwich made by your mom. Forever grateful for her friendship. Sincerely Joanie and Nicole Biglasco

Concetta was an extraordinary human being. Highly intelligent she was nonetheless extremely loving and caring to all who knew her. She was a keen observer of life and all of its foibles but yet a woman of strong faith and inspiration. She was a dear friend of my Mother and also myself. I will miss her wisdom, her caring, and her joy at everything around her, and most importantly her family. Rest in Peace Concetta, rest in peace. Frederick Olessi.

Donna, Diane, and Anthony, I am really sorry about Chetta's passing. She was the sweetest neighbor ever. You could not visit her house without her offering cookies, candy, or other sweets. I remember being at Margaret Wight's wedding and Chetta said to my sister Jane, "Jane, why aren't you eating." Jane said, "Uh, I'm not hungry?" And Chetta's response was, "That's no excuse!"

Diane, Donna and Anthony,
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. She was such a quintessential mother - always warm and welcoming and safe. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized what a gift she was to me and all the kids in the neighborhood. Now that I'm a psychotherapist working with children, I find myself wanting to channel Chetta.
Except for the part about feeding the immediate world. I don't want to channel that. I just can't cook that much.

It must have been around 1962, when I was 5, that I have a memory of visiting Chetta with my sister and her giving us cookies from Romper Room with a "Do Bee" on them. Vanilla or chocolate sandwich. I can't find anything about these online, so I may have made this up. But I certainly remember her warmth and the way she made us feel welcome.
