Obituary of Mark C Conte
Mark C. Conte, 70 of Ewing, NJ died peacefully at home on Sunday surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Born and raised in Trenton NJ Mark resided in Yardley Pa and New York City, prior to moving to Ewing NJ.
Mark graduated from Bordentown Military Institute, received his BA from Florida International University and his MB from Trenton State College (The College of New Jersey). He started his career with Trenton Oil Company which was founded by his late grandfather and great uncle. After the business was sold, he followed his passion for music and taught at the Joan of Arc Public School in New York City until 2001.
Mark was especially proud of his documentary "Campaign for Human Development" which was recently viewed by Pope Francis during his visit to Washington D.C. in September, 2015. He also composed the music for the documentary "We Bring You the News" narrated by Dan Rather. Mark was an avid nature photographer, having his photographs displayed in NYC and Trenton, NJ. He was a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). Mark has been a lifelong member of the Trenton Country Club.
Son of the late Dr. Andrew N. and Dorothy Marks Conte; Mark is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, LaRaine Guarino Conte; his brothers Andrew N. Conte, Jr. and his wife Josephine and Timothy J. Conte; his sisters Desiree L. Conte and partner Harry Harner and Joanne Conte Patton; his sisters-in-law Rosemary Guarino Dorn, Teresa Ann Guarino and Janet Guarino. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mark on Monday, February 4th at 10AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 West Upper Ferry Road, Ewing NJ. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday from 3 to 6 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville NJ 08648. Additional calling hours will be held on Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the funeral home.
