Obituary of Betty E. Van Horn

Betty E. Van Horn, 94, of Abrams Residence in Ewing passed away peacefully on Tuesday at Capital Health Medical Center, Hopewell.
Born in Trenton, Betty was a resident of Ewing for 70 years having also resided in Brigantine for several years. She was a lifelong, very active member of Central Baptist Church, now known as Central: A Christ-Centered Church. Betty enjoyed singing and sang in numerous choirs at several churches since the age of 9. In addition to being a homemaker, Betty was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Betty was a well-known accomplished seamstress and an avid gardener. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Daughter of the late Russell and Margret Schuchardt, wife of the late Carson H. Van Horn, sister of the late Irma Smith and mother-in-law of the late Mark M. Mankin, she is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Judith V. and James Loesch and Patricia Van Horn; her son and daughter-in-law, Christian R. and Marisa Mule Van Horn; her grandchildren, Jesse J. Loesch and wife Amy, Jed M. Loesch and his wife Emily and Nathan V. Wieczorek and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Betty will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with Pastor Richard Gay officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Trenton.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 9:30 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, 7168 Columbia Gateway Dr., Suite 100, Columbia, MD 21046 or to the ASPCA, 520 8th Avenue, NY, NY 10018.
