Dr. Frank N. Elliott, 89, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2015. He was born on March 18, 1926 and grew up in Brocton and Silver Creek, N.Y. He is predeceased by his parents Warren and Ima Elliott, and his sister Lois Desalernos. Frank was happily married to Betta for 63 years. They had three children: Bobby (deceased), Sue, and Ann. Dr. Elliott enlisted and served in the army 1943 -1946, PTO. He received his BA at Alfred University in 1949, MA at Ohio University in 1950, and PhD in History at The University of Wisconsin in 1956. He was also awarded a Doctor of Laws (LLD) by Alfred University in 1972, and by Rider University in 1994. Dr. Elliott served as President of Rider University 1969-1990. Over the years he was active on many state, local, and national boards of directors of professional, corporate and service organizations. He was a member and Elder of The Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville. Dr. Elliott is survived by his wife Betta, daughters; Susan Elliott-Crespin and Ann Neish Elliott, granddaughters; Sonrisa Crespin, Heather Crespin and Bethany Pierce, sons-in-law; David Crespin and Thomas Pierce, brother Dean Elliott, and sister-in-law Carol Elliott. A memorial service will be held on November 23, 2015 at 11am at The Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, 2688 Main St (Rt. 206), Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Any gifts, in lieu of flowers, should be sent to the Frank and Betta Elliott Memorial Scholarship at Rider University or to the Scholarship Fund at Meadow Lakes in Hightstown.
