Lawrence J. Bodnar, 67, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Trenton, NJ, he lived most of his life in Lawrenceville. Larry retired from the Department of Transportation after 40 years of service, where he was employed as CPM Project Manager. Some of his hobbies included traveling to the Caribbean, watching NY Jets Football, watching HGTV, working in the garden, self-help projects around the house and listening to music. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him. Son of the late Michael J. and Ruth Bodnar; he is survived by his wife Carol Bodnar; his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Barbara Bodnar; his step-son Stephen Barkasy; his aunt Josephine Kelsey; 2 grandchildren Shaun and Heather Barkasy; two nieces Michele Gillespie (Andrew) and Paula Millen (Jeff); two great nephews Ian Gillespie and Cody Millen, and several cousins. The funeral will begin on Thursday morning at 8:30AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30AM at The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton. Relatives and friends can call on Wednesday evening from 5-8PM and again on Thursday morning from 8-8:30AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Animals in Distress 102 Winding Way Trenton, NJ 08620.
