John Nabinger, 93, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Monday September 28, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a lifelong area resident. John was a decorated combat Veteran of WWII, having served his country as a medic with the 75th infantry division through three campaigns including the Battle of the Bulge. He is a retiree of the Prudential Insurance Company, where he was employed as a sales agent for many years. John reenlisted with the NJ Army National Guard and retired as a Command Sergeant Major after serving for 28 years. He was a volunteer for 20 years with the NJ Militia Museum and the 112th Field Artillery Association at the Army National Guard on Eggerts Crossing Road. John was a parishioner at The Church of St. Ann. He enjoyed jazz music and was a talented vocalist, competing with barbershop quartets and choruses in competitions around the country. He also enjoyed skiing and photography. Above all, John was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Son of the late John and Bertha Nabinger, brother of the late Robert and William Nabinger; he is survived by his loving wife of 66yrs. Dorothy; two sons and daughters-in-law Jeffrey and Zhanna Nabinger and Stacy Leigh and Janet Nabinger; four grandchildren Stacy John Nabinger (Jill), John, Jacqueline and Jenevieve Nabinger; his brother Richard Nabinger, two sisters Claire Wyrwas and Joy Fitzgeorge; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin on Monday morning at 9AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM at the Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Interment with full military honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 4-6PM at the funeral home. The Nabinger family would appreciate donations be made to the Militia Museum of New Jersey 151 Eggerts Crossing Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
