Obituary of John S. Weiser

John S. Weiser died at home on June 1, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. John was born in New Brunswick, NJ and was a resident of Lawrenceville for many years.
He retired in 1988 after 32 years with Delco Remy Division of General Motors in New Brunswick, NJ. He then started a second career with The College of NJ as a Locksmith, retiring from there in 1999.
John was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
He was a long time member of the Church of St Ann in Lawrenceville where he served as an usher, reader, and sacristan.
John was a Past Grand Knight of Lawrence Council #7000. A Past Faithful Navigator of Bishop Griffin Assembly 4th Degree and also was Commander of their Color Corps for 25 years. John was also a Former Master of the Fourth Degree in charge of Second NJ District. John was an active member of the NJ State Council of the Knights of Columbus for over 30 yrs. He was a member of the American Legion Post #414, a life member of the North American Hunting Club and life member of the Handy Man Club of America.
Son of the late Stephen J. Weiser and the late Elizabeth (Pincz) Weiser, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann (DaBella) Weiser; two daughters and sons- in-law, Estelle and Jim Barger, and Lisa and Joseph D’Agostino; seven grandchildren, MaryAnn Liick and her husband Jeff, Christine Coates and her husband Michael, Patricia Smith and her husband Eric, Dawn Barger, James Barger and his wife Grace, Samantha Fioravanti and her husband Steve, and Nicole Dillon; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler and Trevor Liick, Amanda Barger, Alex Dillon, John and Ben Coates and Lillian Barger.
He is also survived by his three sisters, Betty Braun, Marion Russo, and Theresa Mier; brother-in-law Walter Caulfield; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 9 at 11 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with the Rev. Gerard F. Lynch, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the church. Knights of Columbus Council #7000 will conduct services at 6:30 PM.
Memorial contributions in John’s memory may be made to the Church of St. Ann.
