Philip D. Stein, 57, of Pennington, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at home. Born in Manhattan, NY, he was a resident of the Lawrenceville, Princeton and Pennington areas for 28 years. Philip was educated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology earning his SB in Chemistry, the University of Pittsburgh earning his PhD in Chemistry and Harvard University earning his post doctorate degree. He was formerly employed with Bristol Myers Squibb as Associate Director, Redpoint Bio as Senior Director of Chemistry, Rutgers University as Research Investigator for Medicines for Malaria, Venenum Biodesign, L.L.C. as Vice President of Chemistry and founded Golden Consulting Solutions, L.L.C. where he was the CEO. He was a member of the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS), Phenotype Drug Discovery Group (SLAS) and the American Chemical Society. Son of the late Sarah Sarnelli; he is survived by his wife Sandra Stein; his mother-in-law Mary Jane Szczechowiak; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Linda and Tom Calabrese and Paula and Daryl Banazwski; multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 1PM at The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Interment will be held privately. Relatives and friends may call for Philip on Friday morning from 11AM until the time of the Mass at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Philip’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
