Lea C. Scarpati, 76, of Lawrenceville, died Wednesday peacefully in the presence of her daughter and family. Born in Abruzzi, Italy, and a former Ewing Township resident, she has lived in Lawrenceville for several years. Mrs. Scarpati was a retired keypunch operator with the Princeton Data Center. Daughter of the late Philip and Allegrina Moracco Carnassale, and predeceased by her brother Benjamin Carnassale and a sister Phyllis Chiaradia, she is survived by a daughter Linda L. Scarlett, two grandchildren Dean and Maxwell Scarlett and a brother Edward Carnassale and his wife Linda. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, an uncle Dan Moracco and an aunt Catherine Moracco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM in the Church of St. Ann in Lawrenceville. Family and friends may call on Friday from 9 to 10:30 AM at Poulson & Van Hise funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum in Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lea's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3076 Princeton Pike, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
