Obituary of Vincent J. Garofalo

Vincent J. Garofalo, 96, of Lawrenceville died peacefully on Monday at Merwick Care and Rehabilitation Center in Plainsboro with his daughter by his side. Born in Mt. Braddock, PA he was a resident of Hamilton Township for 53 years prior to his move to Lawrenceville in 2008. Vincent was a US Army veteran having served his country during WW II. He was employed as a bookkeeper with the Canada Dry Bottling Company in Trenton for 31 years until his retirement in 1986. Vincent was a long time member of Our Lady of Sorrows R. C. Church and the Holy Name Society at O.L.S. and served as an usher as well for many years. He was a member of the O.L.S. bowling team and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6213. Son of the late Pasquale and Lucy Quartello Garofalo, husband of the late Mildred Infantini Garofalo, brother of the late Leonard and Eugene Garofalo and Dolores Nobili; he is survived by his daughter, Lucille Mirando; his son, Vincent P. Garofalo; his grandson, Russell Garofalo; his sisters, Patricia Lawson and Gloria Vincent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Vincent on Saturday at 10 AM at the Church of St. Ann. 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. Burial will be private in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton. Friends may call on Saturday from 9 to 10 AM in the daily chapel at the Church of St. Ann. The family would prefer in lieu of flowers that memorial donations in Vincent’s name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Regional Office, 196 Princeton-Hightstown Road, Bldg. 2, Suite 11, Princeton Jct., NJ 08550 or at www.alz.org or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
