Joann P. Scofield, 68, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at home after a courageous battle with ALS. Born in Scranton, PA, Joann was a former resident of Hamilton, before moving to Lawrenceville 32 years ago. She retired from the Princeton Medical Group, where she was employed as a Lab Technician. Joann was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed traveling to numerous countries throughout Europe. Daughter of the late Benny and Julie Piaszik; she is survived by her husband Russell R. Scofield, Jr; her son Christopher Scofield; her daughter and son-in-law Carrie and Nick Sutter; 3 grandchildren Thomas, Nicholas and Gavin; her brother Victor Piaszik. Funeral services for Joann will begin at 9AM on Tuesday at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM at The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Interment will follow at Hazel Wood Cemetery, Rahway, NJ. Relatives and friends can call on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Joann’s memory to the ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter 321 Norristown Road - Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002. (215)-643-5434
