Obituary of Raymond C Gernhardt

Raymond C. Gernhardt, 60, of Lawrenceville, died at home on Saturday March 15th 2008. Born in Phillipsburg, he had been a Lawrenceville resident for the past 31 years. He graduated from Delaware Valley High School and then Warren County Technical School in Washington, NJ. Ray was an Electronics Engineer at the Princeton University Plasma Physics Lab for over forty years. Ray enjoyed many hobbies, including raising orchids and tropical fish, music as both a talented drummer and as a designer and craftsman of fine autoharps, and flying as a private pilot. He is survived by his wife Roberta Brown Gernhardt, his daughter Alison Leigh Gernhardt of New York, NY, his parents Anthony and Mildred Cronce Gernhardt of Pennington and his sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Steve Lowe of Natick, MA Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at The Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, 2688 Main St. Rt. 206, with the Rev. Jeffery A. Vamos, pastor, officiating. Burial will be private. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Memorial contributions may be made in Raymond's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater NJ Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365.
