Claire Catherine (Chmielewski) Zimmer, 87, of Lawrenceville died peacefully at home on Sunday. Born in Trenton, Claire was a resident of Lawrenceville for over sixty years. She was a member of the Church of St. Ann and the Altar Rosary Society at the church. Daughter of the late Albert and Rose Dworak Chmielewski, sister of the late, Thomas, Thaddeus, Joseph (Tracey), Stanley and Leon Chmielewski, Helen Chmielewski, Katherine Varga and most recently Cecilia Arnister, wife of the late Frank J. Zimmer and mother of the late Joan Caracciolo, she is survived by her children, Judi Pollard and her husband Lou, James Zimmer, Joseph Zimmer, John Zimmer and his wife Gretchen, Jane Tomsho and husband Bill and Joyce Pulaski and her husband Ron. Claire is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Stacy and Louis Pollard, Lindsey, Cassandra and Corinne Tomsho, Robyn and Kelly Pulaski, Matthew Caracciolo and his partner Sherry Janulewicz, Chelsea and Dayna Caracciolo; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Tommy and Bailee Caracciolo, her many nieces and nephews, countless friends and her Starr Bus drivers and friends from her Atlantic City trips. Claire lived a very happy and full life – and always with a warm smile, a kind word or a friendly wave. Her happiest times were spent at family celebrations surrounded by her loving family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Claire on Saturday at 10:45 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with Msgr. Vincent Gartland, Pastor, officiating and her nephew Msgr. Edward Arnister, co-officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton. Friends and relatives may call on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 Am in the daily chapel at the Church of St. Ann. Due to the Lenten season the family would prefer memorial contributions in Claire’s name be made to the Felician Sisters, c/o Sr. Juanita Arnister, 260 South Main St., Lodi, NJ 07644 or to the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648
