Florence Sneddon Scanlan Worth, 85, of Ewing died peacefully at home on Saturday surrounded by her family. Born in Schuylkill, PA she was a lifelong Trenton area resident. She was employed by the Goodall Rubber Company as a supervisor in the billing department with 31 years of perfect attendance, before her retirement in 1984. Florence, always one to keep busy, stayed active assisting her daughter at the Yardville CYO Day Camp for many years thereafter. Florence, a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, consistently maintained and projected a positive outlook throughout her life no matter what trial and tribulations came her way. Afflicted with polio at the age of 21, and later surviving lymphoma cancer, she continued to live life to its fullest, marrying, raising her children, working and never having doubted her faith or commitment to Christ. In 1951, she was proud to be chosen the Queen of the NJ March of Dimes State Ball. Florence was a former member of Bible Baptist Church (GraceWay), and in recent years a member of Central: A Christ-Centered Church. Daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Makey Sneddon, wife of the late Charles H. Worth, and mother in law of the late Frank Taylor; she is survived by, her children, Virginia Taylor of Ewing; Edward B. Scanlan, Sr. of Newtown, PA; Charles Worth, III of Hernando Beach, Florida and David C. Worth of Bordentown; her 16 grandchildren, Frank, Jason, Leah, Edward, Jr., Ernie, Andrea, Corby, Charles Shane, Courtney, Christin, Charlie, Courtney, C. T., Michael, Stephanie, and Cheyenne. Also surviving are her brother, Earl Sneddon, her sister, Sarah McClaskey and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Florence will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with the Rev. Richard Gay, Senior Pastor of Central: A Christ-Centered Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennington Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9 to 11 AM at the funeral home. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions would be preferred to be made to Central: A Christ-Centered Church, 2015 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ 08618.
