Born in East Hampton, NY he lived in Hopewell over 40 years before moving to Lawrenceville.
He was a World War II Army veteran having served two campaigns in the Pacific and Europe from 1941 ââ?¬â?? 1945.
He belonged to the Grange 170 in Lawrenceville, NJ. He retired from General Motors in 1968 after working there, for 30 years.
He leaves his wife Lois Cranstoun Carde and his two daughters Laura Burd, and her husband John of Port Saint Lucie Florida, and Susan Bohr and her husband Dennis of Hamilton, his granddaughter Lena Miranda, and three great grandchildren Victor, Nicole, and Melyana Miranda all of Hamilton Township, his step-grand children and step-great grandchildren: Joy and James, Jessica Hoschek of Yardville, James, Terri, Brittany, and Brianna Burd of Eastampton, a step-daughter Susanne Browne and her husband James of Hopewell, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren James, Grace, Megan, and Zachary Browne of Columbus, Janice, Ronald, and Stephanie Martin of Berlin, a step-son William Sinclair and his wife Susan of Newtown, PA, and step-grandchildren Sarah and Justin Piff of Villa Nova, PA, Carolyn and Michael Price of Langhorne, PA , and Amelia Sinclair of Weymouth, MA.
A memorial service will held on Saturday March 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM to celebrate his life at the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church, 1039 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648 with Nina Reeder, Pastor, officiating.
