Christopher J. Closson, 56, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a lifelong resident of Lawrenceville. Christopher was a graduate of Allentown High School and received his Electrical Degree from Mercer County College. He started his career working for George Prince Electric and Princeton Plazma Physics Lab in Princeton. He was the owner/operator of Closson Electrical Contractors, Inc. who loved and took great pride in his work. Son of the late Albert Chmiel and Patricia Closson, his grandparents Joseph and Loretta Closson; he is survived by his wife Delilah, his children Jennifer and Joseph Closson; his stepmother Mary Chmiel; his sisters and brothers-in-law Doretta and Allen Reed, Loretta Lawrence and Arthur Idkin, Pamela Chmiel and Kent, Veronica and Walter Frihart; his brothers and sisters-in-law Joseph and Diana Chmiel and Clifford and Wanda Chmiel; his father-in-law Daniel Brandt, Sr.; grandmother-in-law Elizabeth Dempsey; sisters-in-law Debbie Zuno, Linda Simon, Angel Griffith, Carol Glozer and Susan Brandt; his brothers-in-law Daniel Brandt, Jr., Curtis Simon and Monroe Griffith; 19 nieces and nephews and his dogs Shelly and Trouble. Chris’s passion was spending summers at LBI on his boat with his family. He enjoyed refurbishing the boat, all types of fishing; off the dock, surf and deep sea fishing, surfing and spending time on the beach. He enjoyed scuba diving New Jersey’s coast, the Cayman Islands, and the Florida Keys. Funeral services for Christopher will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11AM at the funeral home. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 6-9PM and again on Saturday morning from 10-11AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Christopher’s memory to a charity of your choice.
