Courtlandt F. Parker, Jr., 77 of Ewing, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26 at Chandler Hall, Newtown, PA., with his loving wife and family by his side. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a lifelong resident of Ewing. After graduating from Ewing High School in 1955, he served in the National Guard and the US Air Force as an aircraft weapons specialist/electrician on the F-105 fighter aircraft. Courtlandt was an Accredited EMT and served on the Pennington Road Fire Company and First Aid Squad in Ewing for many years. He graduated from the 55th class of the Trenton Police Academy in 1980 and served with the Mercer County Airport Police and Fire Department (Station 34 - Crash Fire Rescue). He rose through the ranks at the Airport Police and Fire Department attaining the rank of Police Sergeant and eventually, Chief of the department. Courtlandt was then promoted and served as the Supervisor of Airport Operations until his retirement in 1999. Courtlandt enjoyed many outdoor activities throughout his life, including hiking, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed travelling and went on many cruises and trips with his family to Florida, Myrtle Beach, Alaska, the Caribbean, Mexico, Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy. He was also fondly known for his ability to build or fix anything and he spent many hours in his beloved workshop. He was best known as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend. Son of the late Courtlandt and Sarah Parker; he is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Barbara of Ewing, daughter Beverly Parker of Lawrenceville, daughter and son-in-law Christine and Anthony Battaglia of Hamilton Sq., son and daughter-in-law Brian and Penny Parker of Harbourton; his grandchildren Ryan and Tabitha Battaglia of Hamilton Sq., Brianna Parker of Lawrenceville, Johnathon Parker and wife Danielle of Towson, MD, Matthew Parker and his girlfriend/honorary granddaughter Adrian Dorow of Harbourton; his sister and brother-in-law Marianne and Roger Emmert of Piqua, OH, his aunt Claire Harding of Florence, many nieces and nephews; his beloved Jack Russell Terrier Duke; and his many wonderful neighbors and friends. Visiting hours for Courtlandt will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 6-9PM and again on Saturday, February 1 from 10-11AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Funeral services will follow at 11AM at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Ewing Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Pennington Road Fire Company 1666 Pennington Rd. Ewing Township, NJ 08618 or to Sunshine Foundation - Operation Dream Lift P.O.
