Joseph J. Fruscione, 92, of Lawrenceville and Beach Haven Crest, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 23, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Facility, Lawrenceville. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a longtime resident of Lawrenceville. Joseph was a Veteran of WWII having proudly served his country with the United States Army Air Corp. While in combat, Joseph fought in the China-Burma-India Theatre of Operation and earned a Bronze Star. He was a retiree of the NJ Turnpike Authority. Joseph was a resident of Morris Hall and enjoyed jazz music, his home on Long Beach Island, NY Yankees baseball and watching “Hardball” with Chris Matthews. Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Son of the late James and Filomena “Fanny” Fruscione; brother of the late Mary Joustra and Chester Fruscione; he is survived by his wife Rose Fruscione (nee DiPrima); his daughter and son-in-law Mary Carol and Paul Catanese, his son and daughter-in-law James J. and Barbara Fruscione; three grandchildren Elizabeth Rose Catanese, Evan Joseph Fruscione and Kara Jean Fruscione; his sister Dorothy Wisniewski; one niece and nephew Judy Joustra and Larry Joustra, his grandniece Samantha Joustra; extended family Barbara and Charles Auletta, Lisa, Carrie, George Thomas, Christopher and Johnathan Steill, Michele and Mickey Siegfried, Madi “Mandy” Siegfried, Chuck and Joni Auletta, John, Joy, Kurt and Patti Velit and the Romeo family. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 28 at 11:30AM at Our Lady of Rosary Chapel, 1 Bishops Drive, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Calling hours for Joseph will be from 10-11:30AM at the Chapel on Saturday. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Staff Appreciation Fund at Morris Hall, 1 Bishops Drive Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
