Obituary of Peter John Krawiec
Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peter John Krawiec passed into the Lord's keeping Saturday, December 21, at the age of 98.
Born December 27, 1914 he was raised in Trenton, attended Trenton parochial schools and was a lifelong member of St. Hedwig RC parish. He served honorably in the Army during WWII in both European and Pacific Theaters, and received many medals and honors.
Mr. Krawiec retired in 1979 after 42 years of employment from De Laval Turbine Inc. as Storeroom Supervisor.
He was a member of American Legion Post 458 in Trenton, past member and officer of Trenton Polish American Democrats (TPADS), and a member of St. Hedwig Holy Name Society.
For over four decades he sang with his late wife, Theresa, in the mixed choir at St. Hedwig RC Church. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, traveling and reading, especially about astronomy and science fiction. A deeply spiritual and peaceful man, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and firmly believed that our sojourn on Earth was just a stepping stone to a higher plane of existence.
Son of the late Peter and Anna Dzialo Krawiec, and husband for 59 years of the late Theresa Fay Corvo Krawiec, he is survived by his two sons: Peter Krawiec of Hamilton, and John Krawiec (Ellen), and granddaughter, Catherine Krawiec, all of Conshohocken, Pa. Also surviving is sister-in-law Frances Krawiec of Trenton, sister-in-law Stella Corvo of Crosswicks, sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Dominic and Marie (Corvo) Carsia of Hampton, Va., godson Samuel Slowinski, of Virginia, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers: Julius “Jules”, Stephen, and Charles “Carl” Krawiec, his half-siblings: Jan, Stanislaw, and Frank Gorczynski, and Wiktoria (Gorczynski) Miga.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Hedwig RC Church, Trenton. Burial will be in St. Hedwig Cemetery (old) in Hamilton.
