Obituary of Frank Gargione

Frank Gargione, 81, of Lawrenceville died peacefully on Wednesday at the Emergency Trauma Center of Capital Health, Trenton. Born in the Province of Salerno in Perdifumo, Italy, Frank was a resident of Lawrenceville for the past 48 years. He was a graduate of the University of Bari in Italy and Temple University School of Pharmacy. He began his career as the manager of the pharmacy with E. J. Korvettes and Sav-On Drugs before taking a position with St. Francis Medical Center. He retired from St. Francis Medical Center in 1991 after 25 years of distinguished service. In his spare time he was avid gardener and also enjoyed history, poetry and listening to classical music, especially opera. He also enjoyed traveling when possible. Son of the late James and Fidelia Nese Gargione, he is survived by his wife, Evelina Carnevale Gargione; his sister, Sister Luisa Gargione, S.D.V.; his brothers-in-law, Nick and Marjorie Canevale and Angelo and Elisabeth Carnevale. Frank was also the brother-in-law of the late Alfonso and Nancy Carnevale. Frank is also survived by his cousins, Frank and Lucille Gargione, Luisa and Jerry Paragano, Guido and Mary Kay Gargione, Italo and Maureen Gargione, Josephine and Wayne Holbig, Mary and John Sassano, the late Gus and wife Teresa Fronzuti, the late Joe and wife Tina Belardo, Carlo and Janet Fronzuti, Frank and Sue Gargione, Lina and John Lusk, Frank and Mary Gargione, and several cousins in Italy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Frank on Monday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hamilton. Friends and relatives may call on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Rd, Lawrenceville. There will be no visitation Monday morning at the funeral home.
