Carol Loabe Driver, 76, of Ewing peacefully passed away on Monday, April 8th, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Trenton, New Jersey and educated in Trenton schools, she was a member of the first graduating class of Ewing High School in 1954. Carol graduated from Mercer Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. She worked full-time for the Visiting Nurse Association of Trenton while raising her family, doing volunteer work for the American Cancer Society ,and performing as a soprano soloist at the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church, and with the Mercer County Chorus. During her career as a registered nurse she worked for the Bucks County Health Department and taught nursing at the Sypeck Center Vocational School. Carol possessed the voice of an angel, always singing to her 3 grandchildren, Emily, Victoria, and Charlotte. Carol was notorious for performing the Star Spangled Banner for numerous organizations. In addition to all her volunteer work, Carol continued with her studies and earned her BSN from Trenton State College in 1980. . Predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Wilmer Loabe, she is the Mother of the late William Driver III. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William J. Driver Jr, a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas J. and Diane Scriven Driver; three granddaughters, Emily Jane, Victoria Anne, and Charlotte Kay Driver; a daughter-in-law, Debra Harrison, a brother and sister-in-law who resides in Maine, Richard and Faye Loabe, a nephew, Richard III and a niece, Elizabeth, brother in law Harvey C. Driver and his wife Judy. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:30 am at The Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church 2688 Main Street, Lawrenceville, NJ, 08648. There will be calling hours from 10:30am until the time of the service at the church. Calling hours will be held Friday from 6-8pm at Poulson Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ, 08648. Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation can be made to the American Cancer Society, 2600 US Highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ, 08902.
