Lawrence Stanley Lucash, 77, of Lawrenceville passed away peacefully at home on Saturday surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hazleton, Pa, and a graduate of Hazleton High School, Larry was a resident of Lawrenceville for the past 54 years. He was employed by NJ Bell Telephone, now Verizon, for 38 years before retiring in 1991 as a Staff Manager. He was a Life Member of the Slackwood Volunteer Fire Company, Station 21, where he served as President of the Board for 7 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #7000, and served in the United States Army Reserves for 6 years. Larry was a member of the Church of St. Ann for 42 years and sang in both the Adult and Resurrection Choirs of which he was a member since their inception. He was an accomplished musician, and enjoyed dancing to all types of music, especially polkas. Being a skilled woodworker, Larry took great pride in crafting numerous items for his family and church. His passion was golf, and he looked forward to his Wednesday golf group outing. Son of the late Frank and Stella Arabis Lucash; brother-in-law of the late Lillian Rock, Edward Marszalek, Paul Marszalek and Robert Eastman; he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Theresa Marszalek Lucash, his son and his wife: Marty & Nancy Lucash; four daughters and their spouses: Deborah & Joe Sliwinski, Christine & Vincent Yearly, Jr., Cynthia & Stephen Warshaw and Pamela & Nels Kauppila; his twelve grandchildren, Lucas Sliwinski, Jenna Sliwinski, Lexie Yearly, Vince Yearly III, Anderson Warshaw, Hannah Warshaw, Jason Kauppila, Lauren Kauppila, Melanie Lucash, Meghan Alexopulos, Zack Alexopulos and Nick Alexopulos and his wife Quinn.; his brother Francis Lucash and his wife Norey; his sister Loretta Twers and her husband Joe and his sisters-in-law, Lorraine Eastman and Monica Bleasius and her husband John. Larry is also survived my many extended family members and friends, including his close friends Don & Jayne Mayer and Ron & Pam Bejma. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Burial will follow in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Ewing. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be preferred in Larry’s name with the notation “new organ fund” to: Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
