Obituary of Elizabeth Guarino

Elizabeth Guarino, 90, died peacefully on Monday at Rose Hill Assisted Living in Robbinsville. Born in Trenton, Elizabeth was a resident of Lawrenceville for 55 years before moving to Robbinsville in 2011. Elizabeth was formerly employed as an inspector with the Cuban Tobacco Company of Trenton and then for many years with Sears Roebuck and Company in the catalog department. She was a very active member of St. James Catholic Church where she served as a past president of the church’s senior citizens club. She and her late husband were very instrumental for many years in the planning of trips for the club. Elizabeth was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the San Calogero Society at the church. Daughter of the late Ralph and Angelina Dilea Moscato, wife of the late Samuel J. Guarino and sister of the late Frank Moscato, James Moscato, Theresa Ragolia, Mafalda Frese and Rose Lettera she is survived by her daughter, Carmela Recktenwald and her husband Karl; her granddaughter, Christen Karolkiewicz and her husband Michael; her great-grandaughter, Samantha Paige Karolkiewicz; two sisters-in-law, Patty Moscato and Catherine Priori and several nieces and nephews. Elizabeth’s funeral will be held on Friday beginning at 9 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM at St. James Church, 29 East Paul Ave, Trenton. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hamilton. Friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
