Obituary of Robert Wilhelm Stuebben

Robert Wilhelm Stuebben LAWRENCEVILLE - Robert Wilhelm Stuebben, 84, died Friday in Capital Health Systems at Fuld. Born in Krefeld, Germany he resided in Lawrenceville since 1969. Mr. Stuebben and his wife founded the Village Bakery of Lawrenceville in 1964 and operated it until they retired in 1991. He served his apprenticeship as a pastry chef and earned his master's degree as a Konditor-Meister, a master pastry chef, in Germany. In 1951 he immigrated to the United States and became a citizen. Son of the late Gerhard A. and Maria Stuebben and brother of the late Josy Conklin, he is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Claire R. Stuebben of Lawrenceville; his two sons, Lt. Col. Gerhard A. Stuebben USAF Ret'd, Esq., and his wife Christi of San Antonio, TX and Dr. Kurt Stuebben and his wife Angela of Hillsborough; his grandchildren, Gerhard Andrew and Nicole Stuebben; his brother, Chester J. Stuebben; and his sister, Elsy M. Stuebben. Also surviving is his nephew Robert C. Conklin and his wife Sergie-Ann, and his grandniece Josy Conklin. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, 2688 Main St. Rt. 206, with the Rev. Mary Alice Lyman, associate pastor, officiating.
