Irene T. Mando, 91, of Lawrenceville, died on Friday at St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing at Morris Hall in Lawrenceville. Born in Trenton, she was a resident of Lawrenceville most of her life. Irene worked at the Rider College Library for almost twenty years before her retirement in 1986. She helped guide the ordering process at the library with her unflagging enthusiasm and attention to detail. Irene was a faithful and active member of St. Ann’s Parish, an expert seamstress, enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, and embraced her Italian heritage through food, family and friends. Her greatest joy was her dedication to her beloved nieces and nephews and cherished like grandchildren, her great nieces and great nephews. Daughter of the late Antonio and Angelina DeMarco Falcone, and wife of the late George A. Mando, she is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Raymond Pinelli, her sisters-in-law; Laura and Helen Falcone, her nieces; Sharon Smith (Michael), Karen M. Falcone, JoAnn Flynn (Robert), Martha McLoughlin (Scott), Addie Varin, and Linda Grelich (Russ), her nephews; Raymond Pinelli (Cynthia), Paul Falcone (Nancy), Matthew Falcone, Mark Falcone (Teresa), her great nieces and great nephews; Elizabeth and Andrew Pinelli, Rory Flynn, Gina and William Fortune, Christa and Angela Marzan, Alex Smith, Sarah Tseng, Joseph, Nicholas, Gina, Christina, Anthony and Maria Falcone, Camille and Tyler Varin, Max Nichols, and Winsom Weeks. She was also predeceased by her brothers; Joseph, William, and Mark Falcone, her sisters-in-law; Mary Mando and Patricia Falcone, her nephew, Anthony Falcone, and her great nephew Aaron McLoughlin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9 a.m. at The Church of St. Ann. 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Burial will be in Beverly National Cemetery in Edgewater Park. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Memorial contributions may be made in Irene’s name to The Faith Development Center, Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
