Vera Curtis Speese, 99, of Hamilton, died at her home on Sunday, December 9, 2012. Born in Trenton, and raised and educated in Lambertville, she was a Hamilton resident most of her life. Mrs. Speese was a librarian for the Workmen’s Compensation-Underwriting Department of the New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company in West Trenton until her retirement in 2000. Mrs. Speese was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Yardville, and the VFW Post 491 Ladies Auxiliary in Yardville. Daughter of the late, Winfield Bartlett and Tacie Berniece Moore Curtis, and wife of the late Craig Turner Speese, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynda M. and Eugene W. Willingham II of New Fairfield, CT, her nieces; Joyce Hillman Nickerson of Langhorne, PA, Shirley Hillman Longwell of Sarasota, FL, Jaquelin Curtis Montgomery, of Hilton Head, SC, her nephews; Arthur Scott Curtis of Conifer, CO, and Robert Curtis Jr. of Los Angeles, CA. She was predeceased by her sister, Marian Curtis Hillman, her brothers; Hubert, Arthur, and Robert Curtis, her nephews; William Emerson Larson Sr., Edward Craig Larson, and William Curtis. Graveside services for Mrs. Speese will be celebrated on Friday December 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Holcombe Riverview Cemetery with Rev. Jean Pinto, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
