Obituary of Dennis E. Fairburn

Dennis E. Fairburn Sr., 82, of Lawrenceville died on Friday at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton. Born and raised in Covington VA, Dennis had been a resident of Lawrenceville since 1966. He was a Korean War veteran having served in the Army. Dennis was an accountant with the Educational Testing Center in Princeton for over 30 years before retiring in 1997. Dennis had attended the Westminster Choir College in Princeton and music played an important role in his life. He was a member and past choir director of the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church. Son of the late Harry and Edith Sampson Fairburn, husband of the late beloved Jean Sink Fairburn, and father of the late Ernest Lee Burgandine, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis E. Fairburn Jr. and Jacqueline Fairburn; two step-grandchildren, Juan Diaz and Tabatha Diaz-Sheridan; a sister-in-law Barbara Bailey and her husband Ed; sister-in-law, Barbara Fairburn; brother-in-law Kurt King and his wife Jean and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister, Reva King, and his brothers; Raymond and Denton Fairburn. Funeral services for Dennis will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM at The Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church, 1039 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with Rev. Nina Reeder, pastor, officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville.
