Obituary of Margaret Curtis

Margaret “Peggy” M. Curtis, died on Monday at the Abington Hospice in Warminster, PA. Born in Trenton, she was a West Trenton resident for over fifty years before moving to Ann’s Choice retirement community in Warminster, PA nine years ago. Peggy was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi, a civic and social sorority, for over sixty years. She was very active in civic community happenings, always helping to raise monies or volunteer for social charitable organizations. She was an avid volunteer and supporter of the American Cancer Society for over 25 years. Peggy was loved and adored by her many friends and contemporaries. All of her life, Peggy attended the 5 PM Saturday Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in West Trenton. Daughter of the late John and Frances Maher Lyons, wife of the late James I Curtis, and mother of the late Thomas I Curtis, she is survived by her loving niece, Patricia Lakin and her husband Nicholas, her grandnephew, Ryan Starzyk, her many dear beloved friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Frances Petsko, and her brother, John “Jack” Lyons Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial for Peggy will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 West Upper Ferry Road, Trenton. Burial will be in the Ewing Cemetery, Ewing. There will no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Peggy’s name be made to the American Cancer Society, Eastern Division, 2600 US Hwy 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
