Obituary of Robert Inglis

Robert Inglis Jr., 92, a longtime resident of Lawrenceville, died on Tuesday at the Artman Lutheran Home in Ambler, PA. Born in Philadelphia, he was a Lawrenceville resident most of his life. Bob graduated from Rutgers University in 1943 with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal husbandry. He earned his masters degree in public health in 1961 from Columbia University. He was an Army World War II veteran having served in France and Germany with the 70th Infantry Division and was recipient of the combat infantryman badge. Bob was a Boy Scout for 80 years and served as a youth and adult leader. He served as the Boy Scout’s representative on the McGregor Arctic Expedition to Greenland from 1937 to 1938. He was an Eagle Scout and was awarded the Silver Beaver for distinguished service to scouting. Bob worked for the State of New Jersey Department of Health and retired as the Assistant Director of Consumer Health Services in 1985. During his 39 years of public service he served as the Health Officer for Lawrence Township for 10 years. Bob was a member of the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder and the representative between Boy Scout Troup #28 and the church. Bob was a member and past Master of Lawrenceville Grange #170. He was a member of American Legion Post #414 for over 50 years. Son of the late Robert and Dorothy Lawrence Inglis Sr., he is survived by his wife Marjory Stoker Inglis, his son and daughter-in-law; Robert W. and Gail Inglis, his daughter and son-in-law; Jean and Steven Olsen, and his granddaughter and her husband; Kathryn Amy and Chad Silva. His funeral services will be celebrated on Monday at 1 PM at the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church, 1039 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 12 noon until the time of service.
