Nolan C. Burd, Jr., 68, of Yardville, died Monday at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton. Born in Newark, and a former resident of Hopewell, he resided in Hamilton most of his life. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Mercer County Community College, and sat for his A.I.A. educational credits. Nolan was a licensed architect and served as senior project manager with Design Ideas Group in New Brunswick thirty nine years. One of his many awards was the Master Drafting Award at the A.I.A. Competition. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Son of the late Nolan C. Burd Sr. and Clara Bowker, and late step-father Willard Bowker, he is survived by his loving wife Kathy Grudzina Burd, his sisters Peggy Burd, Hildie Kalisch and her husband Kevin, Pat Hahn, and Lisa Malkin, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren. Also surviving are his beloved dog Finnegan and his cat Bailey. Funeral services and burial will be private. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions in Nolan’s memory may be made to the Bradford County Humane Society, P.O. Box 179, Ulster, PA. 18850.
