Obituary of Patricia Ann Wiechnik Krupa

Patricia Ann Wiechnik Krupa, 74, of Lawrenceville, died on Friday at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1938 in Trenton, Patricia has lived in Lawrenceville since 1960. She was an original member of the “Trenton Talent Club”, where she was an entertainer in local nightclubs, private parties, nursing homes and USO Troops both in Trenton and Ft. Dix, NJ. After graduating from Cathedral High School she worked for NJ Bell Telephone Co. then transferred to California Bell Co in Malibu, CA. She returned home to marry the love of her life Edward Krupa. Together they raised their 6 children and after 15 years as a stay at home Mom, she went to work at Rider University where she retired after 31 years beginning as the switchboard operator. At Rider she was an active member of AFSCME #3043 and was the Treasurer for many years. She was a delegate from Rider to the Mercer County Labor Board where she also served on the Executive Board. She also worked for many years on the Lawrence Township Board of Elections. Her greatest love was travel, culminating in a three-month around the world voyage in 2010. She was also an avid reader and gardener. Patricia was a past member of the former St. Cecilia’s choir of St Hedwig and more recently a member of their Polish Choir. Patricia was predeceased by her parents John and Anna Samojedna Wiechnik and by her young daughter Anna Stella. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Edward, her five sons and daughter, their spouses and her ten grandchildren: E. Foster and Deborah of Lawrenceville, and their son Foster Chase, E. Christopher and Kathy of Crosswicks and their children Hannah and Haven, E. Alan and Carrie Ann of Crosswicks and their four children, Jake, Dillon, Alek and Lily, E. Thaddeus of Lawrenceville, and Edward John and Kelly of Pennington and their daughter Kate, and her daughter and son-in-law, Tricia Agnes and Jeff Cha of Portland, OR and their two girls, Indi and Eden. She is also survived by her siblings Thomas and Lynn Wiechnik of Heiserlerville, John Wiechnik of Lawrenceville, Frank Wiechnik of Princeton, and Agnes and Tom Naughton of Chesterfield and her special nieces Michelle Maisto of Florence, NJ and Cara Nieto of Santa Monica, CA. She leaves many cousins, both here and in Poland whom she loved dearly and shared many happy times. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 3 to 8 PM at Patricia’s home located at 2000 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Hedwig Church, Trenton. Interment will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Ewing. Following the burial a celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at the Krupa residence at 2000 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. Parking for the viewing and celebration will be available at Adath Isreal Synagogue located two doors south from their home. Additional parking beyond the kiosk at Rider University’s lower entrance across the street from their home and people with special needs can be dropped off at their rear entrance.
