Albert “Gary” Buck entered into eternal rest on May 14, 2012 at his home in Ewing surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Hyannis, MA, and raised in Chatham, MA, he was a area resident for the past 23 years. Gary was a Vietnam veteran having served over 16 years in the US Navy and 4 years in the US Air Force. He worked for McLean Engineering for 11 years before retiring in 2000. Gary was preceded in death by his mother and adoptive father; Elizabeth Young Buck and William Buck, his biological father, Norman Ellis, his sister, Bobbye O’Mara, his brother, William Buck and his son, Ronald H. Buck. He is survived by the love of his life, Veronica “Roni” Buck, his son, William E. Buck and his wife Brenda, his four daughters; Susan Buck-Bell and her companion Fry, Sharon Aslin and her husband Steve, Donna Gaither and her husband Mike, and Beth Buck and her companion Bill, 15 of his favorite people in the world, his grandchildren; Stefan, Miranda, Chelsea Rose, Nichole, Kristian, Allen, Jillian, Jonathan, Christopher, Christina, Heather, Pamela, Daniel, Jamie Lynn, and Staff Sergeant (USA) Stephen Paul Buck, 32 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. He is also survived by his nephews, Brian and Sean, his mother-in-law, Rose Lester, his father-in-law, William Lester, his sister-in-law, Rose Marie Mora (Alcides), his brothers-in-law, William Lester (Deborah), and Wayne Lester (Donna), 8 nieces and nephews, 1 great niece, his cousins, Jim Young, Steve Sherwood, and Vivian Wynot. Gary was a longtime friend of Bill W., doing it “one day at a time.” Gary was an avid gardener, supplying his family with fresh vegetables all summer long. He loved sports, particularly his, New England Patriots, his Washington Redskins, and his Boston Red Sox. He was an avid NASCAR fan as well. Gary enjoyed the Ewing Diner where he was loved by all. A celebration of Gary’s life will take place on Wednesday May 16, 2012 at 7 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an Animal Shelter of the donor’s choice, or to the VNA of Mercer County, Hospice Program, PO Box 441, Trenton, NJ 08603. His family would like to especially thank Dr. Sarah Sordo, Dr. Ralph Russo, Dr. Gary Karlen, Dr. Bob Filoramo, and Dr. Scott Kapulskey for their many years of caring and the Visiting Nurses Association of Mercer for their caring and support.
