Daniel C. Roberts, 88 of Ewing, died on Thursday. Born in Trenton, he had resided in Ewing for the past fifty seven years. Mr. Roberts was a World War II veteran having served in the Marine Corps. Mr. Roberts was Captain of the Trenton Fire Company Engine 2 before his retirement in 1979 after 32 years of service. He went on to work for the Crest Ultrasonic Corporation as a field service technician until 1989. He enjoyed sailing, skiing, biking and train watching. Son of the late, Daniel and Mary Plant Roberts and stepmother, Elsa Kranz Roberts and brother of the late; George Roberts, Mary Rugarber, and Edna Nickel, he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Constance Walter Roberts, his children; Sharon Holmes and her husband William, Kenneth Roberts and his wife Connie, Debra Kanach and her husband James, Douglas Roberts, and Christopher Roberts and his wife Karen, his 5 grandchildren, his great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 AM at The Church of the Incarnation, 1545 Pennington Road, Ewing. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hamilton. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Incarnation, 1545 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ 08618.
