Coleman A. Carson, 91, of Lawrenceville, died Monday at the University Medical Center at Princeton.

Born in Lawrence Township, he resided in Lawrence most of his life.

Coleman enjoyed his thirty-six years at Princeton University, until his retirement as manager of camera technology sales. He was the first person to ever video tape a Princeton University football team game for play back and review purposes. His idea caught on and has forever been a valuable tool in all sports for critiquing sporting encounters.

He was a veteran of World War II having served with a medical detachment, and was one on the first soldiers to be trained in the use of the EKG machine that had been developed just as the war began.

Son of the late Coleman and Lillian Neumann Carson, and beloved husband of the late Jennie Gliottone Carson, he is survived by his sister Joan Ann Carson Bryan, his nieces Marianne Seabert, Carol Guralski, Jane Kiernan, Elaine Dansbury-Brassell, Lorraine Dansbury, Eloise Dansbury and Marian Stout. Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Coleman will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, with Monsignor Vincent Gartland pastor of The Church of St. Ann officiating.

Burial will be in Trinity All Saints Cemetery in Princeton.

Family and friends may call on Friday from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home.
