Obituary of Susan M Piunno

Susan M. Piunno, 85, of Ewing, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 27 at the Specialty Hospital at Kimball in Lakewood, NJ. Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident. She retired from the New Jersey Department of Transportation where she was employed for over 20 years. Susan was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Spending time with her family was her greatest pleasure. She was an avid reader and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City. Daughter of the late John and Santa Bruno Convenio and wife of the late John Piunno, she is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Maryann and Donald Smith of Lawrenceville and Joanne and Philip Cantor of Ewing, her grandchildren, Michael Cantor and his wife Jessica, Matthew Cantor, David and Kristin Smith, her great granddaughter, Mikayla Cantor, her sister, Jean McDowall of Whiting, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Josephine Edolo, Frances Festa, Theresa DiStefano, Ann Rizzo, Carmella “Helen” Jordan, and Rose Springsteen, and by her brother, Ralph Convenio. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road in Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM at St. James R.C. Church, 29 E. Paul Avenue in Trenton. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum in Hamilton Township. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
