Obituary of Nanette J. Johnstone

Nanette J. Johnstone, 81, formerly of Lawrenceville, died Thursday at Royal Healthgate Care Center in Trenton. Born in Kearny, she was an area resident most of her life. Nanette was a member of the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church and was active in several church organizations. Daughter of the late Stewart and Susan Jolly Scobie and wife of the late Walter D. Johnstone, she is survived by a son, Allen Johnstone and his wife Rose, and a daughter Donna Carruth and her husband Alan. Also surviving are a granddaughter Cecelia Rose Johnstone, Nanette’s two sisters: Anne and Helen, and a brother Philip Scobie. Funeral services for Nanette will be held on Monday at 11 AM at the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church, 1039 Lawrence Road in Lawrenceville. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hamilton Township. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road in Lawrenceville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Nanette’s memory be made to the American Diabetes Association, Center Pointe II, Suite 103, 1160 Route 22 East, Bridgewater, N.J. 08807.
