Clarence M. ""Mike"" Vereb, 83, of Lawrenceville, died Friday at Arista Care at Meadow Springs in Plymouth Meeting, PA. after a lengthy illness. Born in Morrisville, PA., he had resided in Lawrenceville since 1969. Mr. Vereb was a retired automobile mechanic with Al Mason's Garage in Lawrenceville. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe and received the Good Conduct Medal, European Theater Medal with three Bronze Stars, the World War Two Victory Medal and the American Theater Ribbon. He was a member of St. Michael's R.C. Church, former Quartermaster and former Commander of Lawrence Post #3022 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and had served as a bar steward at the Post. Other memberships included the North Trenton American Legion Post #458, the Military Order of the Cooties and he was a Life Member of the Slackwood Volunteer Fire Company. Son of the late Michael J. and Anna Karabin Vereb and husband of the late Mary Ann Mizsak Vereb, he is survived by three daughters Valerie A. Vereb, Elizabeth L. Vereb and Camille M. Vereb, a sister Teresa A. George, two sisters-in-law Virginia Vereb and Joyce Mizsak, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and special family friends, Helen Kosztyu and Jean Uhaze. The funeral will be held on Monday at 10 AM from Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM in St. Michael's R.C. Church in Trenton. Burial will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Hamilton Township. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. V.F.W. services will be held at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of New Jersey, 1600 Route 22 East, Union, NJ 07083.
