Rose Solski, 86, of Pennington died on Sunday at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton. Born in Naples, Italy and a former resident of Ewing, she had been a Pennington resident for the past 14 years. Mrs. Solski was Secretary to the Commissioner, Saul Cooperman, for the New Jersey State Department of Education for over 30 years before her retirement. Daughter of the late Castrese and Jenny Dinardo Turco, and wife of the late Stanley F. Solski, she is survived by her sister, Jo Strausfogel of Ewing, her two nephews; Steven Solski of Cranford, Ed Solski of Jersey City, her two nieces; Jane Chiarello of St. Augustine, FL, and Pamela J. Phillips and husband Michael of Bristol, TN, and their children Jenna and Daniel Phillips and several cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Carmen J. Turco, her sister, Marian Fiumenero, her nephew, Mark D. Fiumenero, her great nephew, Mark P. Phillips, and her nephew-in-law, Tony Chiarello. Her funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation in Rose’s name to the charity of your choice.
