Obituary of Alicia D. Sassman

Alicia O. Sassman, 86, of Lawrenceville, passed away at her home on Thursday. Born in Santiago, Chile, she immigrated to the United States in 1962 and has been an area resident and U.S. citizen for over forty five years. Alicia was past president of the Circulo Hispano-Americano de Princeton, a longtime member her neighborhood gourmet club, and a member of the Ladies of Princeton Book Club. Daughter of the late Martin and Gertrudis Alicia Evans Oehlmann, and wife of the late James Edward Sassman, she is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Liliana and Norman Spadaccini, her brother and sister-in-law, Eduardo and Maria Teresa Oehlmann, and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville. The will be no calling hours and cremation was private. In lieu of flowers the family strongly suggests that contributions be made in Alicia’s name to The Central and South Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 2 Princess Road, Suite D, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648 or the VNA of Mercer County, 171 Jersey Street, Trenton 08611.
