Mary Halcisak Maleski, 92, of Lawrenceville, died on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing at Morris Hall in Lawrenceville. Born in Kamenica, Slovakia, she immigrated to the United States in 1923 through Ellis Island and eventually settled in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania. After marrying, she relocated to Ewing Township where she was a resident for over 50 years before moving to Lawrenceville. Mary was a long time member of Incarnation-St. James Parrish. She was primarily a homemaker but also worked as a seamstress and waitress for several years. Mary will always be remembered for making the ""world's best pirohy"" and countless handmade egg noodles that she donated to the Sacred Heart Church Bazaar for many years. Daughter of the late Michael and Anna Dinis Halcisak, and wife of the late Joseph Maleski, she is survived by her two daughters Susan Peters and her husband Stephen of Fountain Valley CA, and Mary Ann (Murna) Maleski of Lawrenceville; her grandsons Joseph and Thomas Peters; her two sisters Theresa and husband Jack McMaster of New Castle DE, and Anna and husband Albert Kollesar of Wilkes-Barre PA; brother William Halcisak of Ocean City MD; sister-in-law Mary Ann Halcisak of Drums PA; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Stephen and Joseph Halcisak and sister Cecilia Halcisak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel located at Morris Hall, 1 Bishops’ Drive, Lawrenceville. Calling hours will begin at 10AM at the Chapel, prior to the mass. Burial will be on Saturday at 11:30 AM in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dallas, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Staff Appreciation Fund c/o Morris Hall, 1 Bishops’ Drive, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
